Use case – Priority Designs (PolyJet)
Customer story
Priority Designs: full-color prototypes in <1 day
Columbus, Ohio · Product development · PolyJet / J55
Priority Designs is a product development company in Columbus, Ohio. For Corona Tools, the team developed a pruner with a Flex Dial — adjustable grip, graphics, multiple colors and clear components. With the Stratasys J55™ PolyJet printer, full-color multi-material prototypes go from CAD to physical model in less than a day. The KeyShot → 3MF → GrabCAD Print workflow makes CMF prototypes seamless.

The challenge
The Corona project needed many iterations on form, fit and visuals. Traditionally that meant a multi-week process: sanding, hand painting, decals — high labor and cost — while CAD alone fails to communicate scale and how a tool feels in the hand.
The approach
After installing the J55, Priority Designs validated the promised capabilities on the already-completed Corona Flex Dial project: fast concept iterations, multi-material full color, and high-fidelity printable graphics — including VeroClear™.
From weeks to overnight
Full-color accurate prototypes that once needed sanding, painting and graphics now go from CAD model to full-color part in less than a day, with significantly less active labor.
KeyShot → 3MF → GrabCAD
CMF choices in KeyShot translate seamlessly via 3MF into GrabCAD Print: texture and material in one file, ready to evaluate the next morning.
“Originally, [developing this product] was a multi-week process with a lot of complexity, man hours, and costs, all that can now be done overnight.”
Impact
- Full-color multi-material prototypes in <1 day
- Less manual finishing (paint/decals); graphics printed in
- Faster design reviews and clearer stakeholder feedback on realistic CMF models
