SEIDO Solutions

SEIDO Solutions is the SEIDO group’s in-house 3D print bureau in Wevelgem. We print prototypes and end-use parts in plastic and metal for customers in the Benelux, France and the Nordics. Below are the questions we hear most often.

About SEIDO Solutions

What is SEIDO Solutions?

SEIDO Solutions is the SEIDO group’s in-house 3D print service bureau. Since 2011 we have printed prototypes and end-use parts for customers in the Benelux, France and the Nordics — in-house in Wevelgem, on the same industrial technologies SEIDO Systems sells: FDM, SLA, DLP, MJF/SAF, PolyJet and SLM. Short lead times, strict quality control and full confidentiality of your request are central. We also advise on material, technology and part optimisation. You do not need to buy a printer yourself.

What is the difference between SEIDO Solutions, SEIDO Systems and SEIDO Systèmes?

SEIDO Solutions prints parts as a service. SEIDO Systems sells, installs and maintains industrial Stratasys printers in the Benelux and the Nordics. SEIDO Systèmes in France. The three brands belong to the same group. No machine yet, or need extra capacity, a benchmark or backup? Then Solutions is for you. Want to print yourself? Then Systems is your partner.

Where are parts printed and which countries do you serve?

All parts are produced in-house in Wevelgem (Nijverheidslaan 23, 8560). We work for customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France and the Nordics. Files stay in-house; we do not outsource production to an anonymous network. Delivery and collection are agreed in the quote.

Technologies and sizes

Which 3D printing technologies does SEIDO Solutions run in-house?

Six families, all in-house:

  • FDM — industrial thermoplastics, up to 914 × 610 × 914 mm
  • PolyJet — high resolution (14 µm), multi-material, full colour / Pantone, transparent
  • DLP — injection-moulding-like quality in Loctite resins, up to 384 × 216 × 320 mm
  • SLA — Stratasys Neo, 450 × 450 × 400 mm, fine detail
  • MJF / SAF — powder bed for functional small series (incl. PA11 on the H350)
  • SLM — metal printing up to 150 × 150 × 150 mm, post-milling possible

Which line fits depends on function, tolerance, surface, series size and material — not on the “newest” machine.

What is the difference between FDM, PolyJet, DLP, SLA, MJF/SAF and SLM?

FDM extrudes thermoplastic and is strong for functional parts, large build volumes, jigs and engineering plastics (ULTEM, Antero). PolyJet jets photopolymer in thin layers and excels at detail, colour, soft zones and medical or dental models. DLP polymerises resin layer by layer and delivers isotropic, wear-resistant parts with a surface close to injection moulding. SLA (Neo) is strong on resolution across a larger vat. MJF/SAF fuses nylon powder for repetitive functional series. SLM welds metal powder into dense metal parts, including internal channels.

Does SEIDO Solutions also print metal?

Yes. We print metal via SLM (laser powder bed fusion) up to 150 × 150 × 150 mm. Complex shapes such as integrated cooling channels are possible. Afterwards we can post-mill parts when tolerance requires it. The brochure mentions alloys including 316L and F75. Whether metal is the right choice depends on strength, temperature, weight and finishing. If you are unsure, start with one benchmark part.

How large can a part be?

That depends on the technology. Our largest FDM machine reaches 914 × 610 × 914 mm. SLA goes up to 450 × 450 × 400 mm, DLP to 384 × 216 × 320 mm, MJF/SAF to 315 × 208 × 293 mm, SLM to 150 × 150 × 150 mm. Larger assemblies we split or we choose another line. Send the envelope and critical dimensions with your request.

Quotes, files and process

How do I request a quote or test print?

Three doors:

  1. Upload portal — one file up to 256 MB (STL, STEP/STP, ZIP, RAR or TAR), with choice of quote or order, technology, material type, finish level and desired lead time
  2. offer@seido-solutions.com or info@seido-solutions.com
  3. Contact form

We review manufacturability and send a proposal. Quotes are valid for 30 days under our terms and become binding only after written confirmation.

Which files should I supply?

Via the upload portal: one file of max. 256 MB as STL, STEP/STP, ZIP, RAR or TAR. By email a STEP, IGES or STL plus the application is fine. The more complete the input — material, quantity, surface requirement, tolerance, finishing — the sharper the quote. If you do not yet have a print-ready model, we help with orientation, wall thickness and support. Confidentiality also applies to the files.

How fast is the turnaround?

We work with a short lead time and enough capacity, but planning depends on technology, material, finishing and shop load. A single benchmark part is typically quicker to schedule than a finished metal series. The concrete timing is in your quote. We do not publish a fixed turnaround in hours or days.

What does 3D printing cost at SEIDO Solutions?

There is no public price list. Cost depends on volume, technology, material, nesting, finishing and quantity. Powder bed (MJF/SAF) becomes more economical as you nest more parts in one build. Ask for a proposal; prices in the quote exclude transport, insurance and VAT unless stated otherwise.

Do you treat my design confidentially?

Yes. All parts are printed in-house in Wevelgem. We do not outsource jobs to an external network. Confidentiality of request and file is a core element of how Solutions is set up — originally among other things for benchmarks and VIP work for existing Systems customers.

Do you also do post-processing?

Yes, depending on the technology. We remove FDM support (often water-soluble). PolyJet needs little finishing. For SLM we can post-mill to the tolerances required. Extra steps such as infiltrating, colouring, smoothing or assembling are agreed in the quote. Ask for them upfront so the chain sits in one schedule.

Applications and volumes

Which applications does SEIDO Solutions print for?

Typically: functional prototypes, jigs & fixtures, robot tooling (EOAT), small to mid-size series of end-use parts, medical and dental models, colour presentation models and metal tooling inserts. Materials range from ASA and nylon to ULTEM 1010/9085, Loctite resins, PA11 and metal powder. The application drives the line, not the other way around.

Can I start with one test part or benchmark?

Yes. Solutions was founded in 2011 partly for benchmarks, VIP service and extra capacity. One part is the normal first step: compare materials, check fit, or underpin a machine investment. After that we move to a series or you switch to your own printer via SEIDO Systems.

Do you only print prototypes or also series?

Both. Prototypes remain important, but MJF/SAF, DLP and FDM are explicitly meant for functional small series and on-demand production. Powder bed in particular keeps unit cost manageable with nesting. The larger or more repetitive the job, the sooner we look together at whether your own machine (via Systems) becomes more economical.

Do you help with material choice and design optimisation?

Yes. Advice on material, technology and product optimisation is part of the service — not only the printing. Think wall thickness, orientation, split lines, support faces and whether a resin, filament, powder or metal meets the specification. Send the use case with the request, not only the STL file.

Relationship with SEIDO Systems

What is the VIP print service if my printer goes down?

If you have a Stratasys printer via SEIDO Systems and it is temporarily down, Solutions can continue printing in-house so production does not have to stop. With a Systems maintenance contract or operational renting, that backup is part of the arrangement (you typically pay for the material). Separately, you can always use Solutions as extra capacity.

When should I choose a print service instead of buying a printer?

Choose Solutions when volume is irregular, you need several technologies, you want to validate first, or you do not want capex. Buy or rent your own machine via SEIDO Systems once 3D printing is structural in the process and the TCO of in-house printing is lower. Many customers do both: series in-house, peaks and special materials via Solutions.

Delivery and terms

Do you deliver to Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the Nordics?

Yes. The print service covers the Benelux, France and the Nordics. Production is in Wevelgem; shipping or collection is agreed per job. Contact by region: Belgium +32 56 35 00 35, Netherlands +31 30 32 00 274, France +33 3 53 32 00 59, Nordics +46 40 13 50 00.

How long does a quote stay valid?

Under the general terms of SEIDO Solutions BV: 30 days, unless agreed otherwise in writing. Prices exclude delivery, transport, insurance, VAT and import duties. A quote becomes binding only after written order confirmation. The current terms are in the document with your proposal.
